About us

STATUS Language Centre has been open in Poltava since 2007. We started with groups for international companies; today we teach everyone from first-graders to company directors, on site in the city centre and online.

Our story

From 2007 to today

Every date here changed something about who we teach and how.

  1. 2007

    The centre is founded

The Status Foreign Language Centre opens. We teach adults and work with international companies in oil & gas, tobacco and agriculture.

  2. 2011

    A new direction — children

Lessons for schoolchildren begin: from first grade to ZNO (now NMT) preparation at 180+ points, as well as to international exams.

  3. 2012

    A certified Pearson exam centre

We opened a Pearson Test of English exam centre and became the only official Edexcel representative in Poltava region. Sitting an international exam no longer means travelling out of Poltava.

  4. 2013

    Summer language camps abroad

We began working with international children’s camps in Europe and the USA, where children combine a holiday with full immersion in an English-speaking environment.

  5. 2017

Reorganised into STATUS Language Centre LLC

We widen our work with private and public organisations, prepare specialists for interviews at IT, oil & gas and agricultural companies.

  6. 2022-2024

    Interactive coursebooks and online platforms

We moved to interactive coursebooks and digital learning platforms, opened 24/7 access to materials and began teaching students all over the world online.

  7. 2025-2026

    Back to the classroom

Despite the challenges of wartime, we brought most lessons back offline, giving students a safe space to learn, to find support and to talk face to face — the kind of contact that helps teenagers rebuild friendships and social ties.
